How yoga has helped me to finally feel at home in my body
[Trigger warning: eating disorders/ distorted body image] One of the aspects of yoga I am most grateful for is that yoga has helped me to feel good about myself again. As a teenager I struggled with eating disorders. Luckily, I “got over it“ after a few years - meaning I stopped with the destructive behavior, got back a “healthy“ weight and enjoyed food again (mostly without a guilty conscience). However, what stayed for years to come: A pretty distorted body image. Yoga has changed that. Yoga has healed me.

Yoga on and off the mat
On the mat I learn things I can also apply to my daily life. That is - in my opinion - the beauty of yoga. Yoga is not just a physical practice but a system that helps us to live happier and more fulfilled. And spoiler alert: Yoga is not a religion. It is not dogmatic. It is a practice that serves you - and the people around you.
